TalentED
TalentED is a geo-enabled career navigation hub designed to support K-12 and CA community college students, by providing real-time workforce data, mapping tools, and visualizations that help individuals explore and plan their education-to-career journeys . TalentED has been supported by multiple rounds of Orange County Strong Work Force funding with Coast Community College District serving as fiscal agent and project lead.
Challenge
- Regional employers and community colleges recognized the need to ramp up efforts to help students and adult job - seekers to discover and pursue careers associated with the regions eight high priority industry sectors. We were charged with designing and developing a web portal leveraging the power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to present real time Labor Market and Living Wage data, in - depth graphical information on high priority industry sectors, and an extensive library of videos highlighting Career education programs at all nine Orange County Community Colleges
- 48 CTE faculty and career counselors at the nine OC community colleges needed support in devising instructional strategies to integrate the use of TalentED into their practices. We were charged with designing, developing, implementing, and leading evaluation of a comprehensive online TalentED curriculum including assessments to be hosted on the Canvas Learning Management System.
- 48 CTE faculty and career counselors at the nine OC community colleges required a communications strategy and system for sharing ideas and best practices on the integration of TalentED into their practice. We were tasked with developing and promoting the adoption of a digital communication platform for real - time posting of case studies and exchange of ideas.
